SOTERIA CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP’S  PRIVACY NOTICE

Your personal data – what is it?

 Personal data relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data. This could include a person’s name, photos, videos, phone numbers, email address and address. Identification can be by the information alone or in conjunction with any other information in the data controller’s possession or likely to come into such possession. Soteria Christian Fellowship is the data controller (contact details below). This means it decides how your personal data is processed and for what purposes.

Soteria Christian Fellowship complies with its obligations under the GDPR ( the General Data Protection Regulation) by keeping personal data up to date by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.

What data does the data controller (Soteria Christian Fellowship) process?

Contact details such as phone numbers, addresses, email addresses.

There may be reasons to process information from you, or a third party, such as gender, age, date of birth, marital status, nationality, education, professional qualifications, hobbies, family composition and dependants.

Where personal data is given by you, or a third party, from website enquires, or the request for information regarding Soteria Christian Fellowship, this also may be processed.

Where donations or payments for a particular purpose are given, bank account numbers will be processed.

 

 

Sensitive Data:

Where you, or a third party, disclose sensitive personal information, we may keep that sensitive data which may include religious beliefs, physical/mental health, sexual orientation, criminal offences/alleged criminal offence date such as DBS checks/photo/video footage.

Data given will be processed for some or all of the reasons below:

For members of the ministry team to provide pastoral care, prayer and counselling.

To manage, help and inform those who have various responsibilities within the fellowship.

 To administer membership records.

 To maintain our own accounts and records.

There may be reasons to share data obtained from you so that we can   deliver the services or information that you have requested. 

To inform individuals of news, events, notices, activities and services running at Soteria Christian Fellowship.

Data given, such as names, phone number, addresses and bank account details, may be used to process any money given to Soteria Christian Fellowship. Also, data may be processed for money paid to someone from Soteria Christian Fellowship.

Data may be used to contact people regarding opinions, surveys, or research regarding certain current or future aspects involving Soteria Christian Fellowship.

What is the legal basis for processing your personal data?

The data controller, Soteria Christian Fellowship, may have a legitimate interest or reason for processing your data so that we can keep you informed about news, events, activities and services in our fellowship.

Processing is also necessary for carrying out legal obligations such as DBS checks.

Processing data will be used if you desire to become a member of Soteria Christian Fellowship.

Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential, and will be shared only with people within Soteria Christian Fellowship who need to to know certain data such as  elders, leaders or members. We will only share your data with third parties outside of Soteria Christian Fellowship with your consent.

Data may also be shared if for any reason we are required to do so by law i.e. someone involved in criminal activity.

 How long do we keep your personal data?

We will keep your data for as long as necessary i.e. for the duration of your membership, or the time you are involved with Soteria Christian Fellowship for any other reason. Also, we will keep your data as long as you want us to. Processing of your personal data will cease if you no longer want us to keep it.

We will also keep your data for any legal reasons i.e. claims or complaints; for safeguarding purposes etc.

Your rights and your personal data:  

Unless subject to an exemption (under the GDPR), you have the following rights with respect to your personal data: 

The right to request a copy of your personal data which the data controller, Soteria Christian Fellowship holds about you.

The right to request that the data controller, Soteria Christian Fellowship corrects any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date

 The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for Soteria Christian Fellowship to retain such data.

  The right to withdraw your consent to the processing at any time.

 The right to request that the data controller provide the data subject with his/her personal data and where possible, to transmit that data directly to another data controller, (known as the right to data portability), (where applicable)

The right, where there is a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing.

 The right to object to the processing of personal data, (where applicable) [Only applies where processing is based on legitimate interests.

The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Further processing:

 If we wish to use your personal data for a new purpose, not covered by this Data Protection Notice, then we will provide you with a new notice explaining this new use prior to commencing the processing and setting out the relevant purposes and processing conditions. Where and whenever necessary, we will seek your prior consent to the new processing.

If you do disclose any details about yourself such as a name, email address, postal address, phone number, it will enable you to be contacted regarding any enquires or information about  Soteria Christian Fellowship you have made.

If after enquiring about any information, you do not want to proceed any further, your personal data that you have shared will be deleted.
