We Believe

''Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to man by which we must be saved'' Acts 4:12

Soteria is  the Greek word for salvation.  Within the meaning of 'Soteria' is deliverance.  Jesus came to heal the sick, cast out demons and work miracles, as well as save us from our sins. Jesus Christ is the answer to the needs of all people.

What We Believe:

Soteria is a church that believes the Bible to be  the Word of God. It is God's message of salvation to mankind. It contains His plan, purpose and promises for all people.

These truths are at the heart of what we believe as an assembly of God's people.

2 Tim3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

17so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work

We also believe Jesus has given us the power and authority to go in His name and do  the same as He did when on earth:

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy, nothing will harm you. Luke 10:19

Very Truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. John 14:12

We Believe that the unity of true believers in Christ is important:

My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them will be one , Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that  you have sent me. I have given them the glory you gave me, that they may be one as we are one - I in them and you in me - so that they may be brought to complete unity. John 17:20-23

Our Passion:

Our  passion is to see people come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Also, to see Jesus minister healing and deliverance  to a broken world.

Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he  was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wound we are healed. We all like sheep , have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way, and the Lord has laid on him  the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:4-6

We also have a passion to see the ongoing power of God moving in  miracles, signs  and wonders, the church today, the community at large, and revival to this land:

In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour our my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. Acts 2:17

It is important that our passion and first love is Jesus; that we grow in maturity and Christ-likeness.  Our relationship with Jesus, not religion, is what counts.

Also, that we serve Him, not in our own might, but through the power and gifts of His Holy Spirit working in and through us.
